April smart TV sold 407,000 units increased by 97.2%

[Global Network Product Channel Report] According to AVC monthly monitoring data, in April 2012, smart TV sales reached 407,000 units, an increase of 251.9% over the same period of last year, an increase of 97.2% from the previous period, and the average price of a single unit was 5971 yuan; Sales of intelligent LCDs totaled 379,000 units, an increase of 97.5% from the previous period, and smart PDPs sold 27,000 units, a 91.9% increase from the previous quarter.

April smart TV sales market situation:

1. In April 2012, the overall smart TV sales penetration rate was 28.2%, up 6.3% month-on-month and 20.9% year-on-year, of which smart LCD and smart PDP sales penetration were 27.8% and 36.3% respectively.

In April 2012, the proportion of domestic and international brand sales was 66:34. The average price of domestic and foreign brands decreased in different degrees this month; the average price of domestic brands was 4,865 yuan, a decrease of 4.9% from the previous month, and the average price of foreign brands was 8,995 yuan, a decrease of 12.4% from the previous quarter.

3. Small and medium size still dominates the market. In April 2012, the sales volume of smart TVs in small and medium size soared. The 32-inch sales volume of this month was 55,000 units, up 41.5% month-on-month, and the 42-inch sales volume was 81,000 units this month, a month-on-month increase of 87.9%. 46-inch, 47-inch, 48-inch sales have a strong growth this month.

According to AVC forecast data, smart TV will usher in a breakthrough development in 2012. In 2012, the smart TV market is expected to sell 11.9 million units, an increase of approximately 240% year-on-year; retail sales are expected to reach 21.6 billion yuan for the full year, an increase of approximately 221% year-on-year.
