AEC-Q200 certified U2J Class-I MLCC brings better performance, stability and predictability to automotive applications
KEMET announced the launch of U2J dielectric capacitors for automotive applications. The U2J Surface Mount (SMD) platform has been certified to AEC-Q200 automotive and offers more than twice the capacitance value compared to C0G/NP0. It also offers superior temperature performance over the X7R, X8R and X5R, making it an ideal capacitor solution for automotive applications.
U2J devices are consistent with the stringent requirements of automotive systems. Its superior performance over other technologies can help designers overcome the challenges of circuits that need to meet low loss, noise reduction, and critical timing requirements, as well as the need to improve capacitance stability compared to popular X7R-based devices.
Based on an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, Kemet's U2J capacitors are designed to withstand small, predictable, and linear capacitance changes with respect to temperature. In addition, U2J-based devices maintain over 99% of their rated capacitance at full rated voltage and have low ESR and ESL to handle very large ripple currents. These new devices are lead-free, RoHS and REACH compliant and do not require any exemptions.
U2J SMD MLCC now offers commercial and automotive grade products with flexible termination options.
