The LTC 3865 is a high performance, dual, synchronous step-down DC/DC switching regulator controller that drives a full N-channel synchronous power MOSFET stage. A constant frequency current mode architecture provides a phase lockable frequency of up to 770kHz. Minimize power loss and noise by operating the two controller output stages out of phase.

The use of OPTI-LOOP compensation optimizes transient response over a wide range of output capacitance and ESR values. The independent tracking/soft-start pin of each controller ramps the output voltage during the startup operation. In the event of a short circuit, the current foldback function limits the heat dissipation of the MOSFET. The MODE/PLLIN pin is responsible for selecting between Burst Mode? operation, pulse skip mode, or continuous inductor current mode. The output voltage can be accurately set by pin bonding or an external resistor.

The LTC3865/LTC3865-1 are available in a low profile (5mm x 5mm) 32-pin QFN package and a 38-pin thermally enhanced TSSOP package.
