The NCV7240 is an eight-channel low-side driver that provides up to 600 milliamps (mA) of drive per channel, providing power distribution control for relays, LEDs, and unipolar stepper motors in automotive applications. Each output driver provides overload current protection with an inductive domain clamp function. This low-power component is packaged in a small footprint SSOP24 and provides output control via SPIåŸ . Other key features include parallel input pins, “limp-home†mode, and low quiescent current sleep and standby. Mode to minimize car battery demand.
The NCV7471 SBC includes dual local Internet (LIN), high-speed controller area network (CAN), and a 500 mA step-up DC-DC controller to monitor low-voltage power. The integrated CAN and LIN transceivers enable the electronic control unit (ECU) to act as a host for multiple communication nodes or as a gateway unit, while the on-chip status controller ensures a safe power-up sequence and supports low-power modes.
The NCV7430 SBC is a LIN-based, single-chip driver for dedicated multi-color LED applications for automotive interior lighting. The RGB driver consists of three independent LED current regulators and one LIN interface for parameter setting of LED color and luminous intensity. Application schematics can include current boosting, temperature compensation, dissipation equalization, or extended functions such as auto-addressing, depending on customer requirements. In a typical manufacturing process, the NCV7430 is packaged on a circuit board along with an RGB LED chip that can be calibrated to compensate for LED process aliasing issues. In order to support different nodes, the node can be assigned an address by pre-programming or automatic addressing.
The latest USB forward overvoltage protection controllers, NCV380 and NCV360, protect automotive infotainment systems from overvoltage and overcurrent damage caused by external components plugged into the USB port. When the input detects an inappropriate VBUS operating condition, the two components quickly disconnect the system's output and provide overvoltage protection of +20 volts (V). The integrated PMOS FET is offered in a solution that eliminates the need for external components to reduce system cost, bill of materials (BOM), or printed circuit board (PCB) area.
The EMI2121 common-mode filter with integrated electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection has also been optimized to protect the increasingly popular automotive USB 2.0 connectivity applications in automotive infotainment systems. The EMI2121 is one of more than 1,500 AEC-certified protection components from ON Semiconductor.
