"Patent Warfare" Will Lead the Rise and Fall of Home Appliance Industry

With the development of the economy and the continuous progress of society, the trend of China's home appliance companies from price wars to technical warfare, energy-saving warfare, and innovation war is becoming increasingly apparent. Among them, the patent warfare has also become the commanding heights for all companies to compete for. Patent warfare may dominate the rise and fall of the home appliance industry in the next decade.

Recently, the third member congress of the China Patent Protection Association was held in Beijing. Chen Yidan, the main founder and chief administrative officer of Tencent, stated that the patent war will occur frequently in the domestic and international markets in the next 10 years, and each battle may lead to the rise and fall of enterprises, the replacement of industry leaders, and even the transformation of an industry business model.

In addition to the home appliance industry, Chinese Internet companies are also one of the most innovative corporate groups in China. Over the past 10 years, a large number of patents have been accumulated. Taking Tencent as an example, as of October 2012, it has accumulatively applied for nearly 6,000 patents, ranking third in the global Internet industry. In order to solve the problems of domestic patents that are "overcharging and lacking in operations," Chen Yidan pointed out that it is imperative that the public be guided to establish the concept of "consumer patents and payment considerations."
