In the first quarter of 2010, Philips reported sales of 5.7 billion euros and earnings before interest, taxes and amortization (EBITA) of 504 million euros. Gerard Kleisterlee, president and CEO of Royal Philips Electronics Group, said that although some large-scale lighting business has not yet begun to rebound, the growth rate of the lighting business has already occupied 18%.
Philips said that in the first quarter of 2010, its lighting sales value reached 1.8 billion euros. From 12 months last year to March 2010, its lighting sales value reached 6.9 billion euros.
For the 12 months last year, Philips Lighting sales accounted for 10% of its total LED sales. As shown in the chart below, LED sales totaled 700 million euros.

In the 12 months of last year, the sales value of Philips Lumileds was about 350 million euros (about 466 million US dollars), while Cree announced that its LED products revenue reached 686 million US dollars.
