Cypress and Future Electronics and Murata Launch Nebula IoT Development Kit

In September 2017, Cypress Semiconductor Corporation and its authorized distributors, Fuchang Electronics and Murata, announced the launch of the Nebula IoT Development Kit.

The Nebula development board is a development board with IoT cloud connectivity that enables developers to quickly develop and deploy their IoT ecosystem. The development board's wireless connectivity is implemented by the Murata 1DX module, which is based on Cypress's CYW4343W Wi-Fi and BT/BLE combined SoC.

Cypress's SoC is equipped with a 2.4 GHz WLAN IEEE 802.11 b/g/n baseband/RF and supports Bluetooth 4.2. In addition, to further reduce the total cost of the solution and reduce the size of the 1DX module, the SoC also integrates a high-performance power amplifier (PA), a low-noise amplifier (LNA) that achieves the industry's best receiver sensitivity, and a Built-in receive/transmit (iTR) RF switch. The Nebula development board supports a variety of application developments through the Cypress WICED® (Embedded Device Internet Wireless Connectivity) Studio development platform.

The Nebula development board is equipped with four different interfaces for accessing the STM32F429 peripherals, allowing developers to create any IoT application. The four interfaces are: ArduinoTM compatible expansion board, mikroBUSTM socket, PmodTM connector/interface and USB. Since each expansion board* focuses on one application (eg motor control, environmental sensors) and includes the wireless connectivity required to implement IoT development, the Nebula development board can be used by developers through a large number of standardized expansion boards. Brings convenient hardware scalability.

The NebulaTM development board is designed for beginners and veterans of IoT applications such as asset tracking, energy management, fitness, lighting control, HVAC, portable control, security, building automation, etc., to help them grasp the huge business opportunities of IoT applications.
