When the wire rope breaks after a certain period of operation of the elevator, it is necessary to check and pay more attention to the amount of wire wear and the number of broken wires.
When the wire rope is worn or corroded to 30% of the original diameter to become a broken wire, the wire rope is scrapped when the number of all the monofilaments exceeds 10% in one lay length. When there is a broken strand on the wire rope, it should be scrapped immediately and replaced with a new wire rope.
