/Overview/
With the improvement of automation level, many traditional production technology companies are striving to achieve automation and digital control. Among them, quantitative filling (control) is widely used in food and beverage industries. This article uses the alarm output function of electromagnetic flowmeters to introduce a simple quantitative control method.
/Application Introduction/
There are IN+ and AL on the electromagnetic flowmeter terminal block. Connect the lead wires of these two terminals to the "start button" or "start control signal" (see below
Figure), you can start the synchronization of quantitative control.

When the start button is pressed once, the converter records the "current accumulation amount", and calculates the "target accumulation amount" based on the quantitative value, and starts counting.
When the target value is reached, the level control signal (output by terminals AH and COM) is output. The target value can be freely set according to the actual control needs.
/way to control/
The following are the actual circuit diagrams of the two control modes for on-site application reference.
1 Level control method
If the external quantitative control circuit adopts the method shown in Figure 2, when the quantitative value is not reached, AH will be high to COM; if the quantitative value is reached, AH will jump to low to COM.

2 Relay control method
If the external quantitative control circuit adopts the method shown in Figure 3, the normally open node of the relay can be used. When the quantitative value is not reached, the internal transistor is cut off, the coil is not energized, and the node is disconnected; if the quantitative value is reached, the internal transistor is turned on, the coil is energized, and the node is closed.

The realization of the above functions must ensure that the measurement direction of the electromagnetic flowmeter is positive measurement and has the accumulation function.
/Menu Settings/
The hardware function is realized, the next step is to set two menu functions closely related to quantitative control on the flowmeter: "Flow Totalization Unit" and "Quantitative Control Settings".
1. Flow accumulation unit
According to needs, the flow integration unit can be selected from 0.001m3, 0.01m3, 0.1m3, 1.0m3, 0.001L, 0.01L, 0.1L, 1.0L.
2. Quantitative control settings
This menu is used to set the quantitative value. For example: 2.000m3.
After completing these settings, even a complete and reliable quantitative control system can be put into use, it can greatly reduce the labor intensity of the staff, and greatly improve the reliability and accuracy of the production process control.
/Header display/
The last is the display content on the meter head in the quantitative control process:
The LCD display can be switched in the downward direction:
+ 0000043.000 m3 (positive cumulative amount)
DL 2.000 m3 (quantitative value)
+ 0000045.000 m3 (target cumulative amount)
The above example shows that the current cumulative amount is 43.000m3 and the quantitative value is 2.000 m3, then the target value of the quantitative trigger signal is 45.000m3.
