Recently I received a standard for the large characters of the building, accumulated a little experience, and now I am selling it now, and I will talk about how to simulate such a case in DIALux EVO.

Many manufacturers have introduced module products (as shown below) to replace single spots, with higher light efficiency and more consistent color temperature. It took 10,000 light points to complete a large character, but now it only needs half or less.

So the question is: How do you let the owner recognize the new product and have confidence in the effect? Please look down:

The difficulty in making large-scale characters in the building is the distance between the LED and the acrylic panel, and the spacing of the modules. To achieve sufficient brightness and energy saving, it is necessary to simulate in advance.

How to simulate with DIALux evo? The principle is simple: treat the illuminating word as a room treatment and reflect the transmission calculation instead of reflection.

1. The height of the room is the thickness of the luminous word (0.2 m in this case).

2. The transmittance of the milky white acrylic panel is about 50%. Therefore, we set the floor in the room to 50% reflectivity, and calculate the brightness of the ground, which is the brightness of the surface of the luminous word.

The actual operation is as follows:

Tips: Select the blank part of the stroke in the right half of the field "Field". This is done by "drawing a polygon space component" in the space component.

Step 2: Set the room height by font thickness

In the software, we were unable to set the building height to 0.2 meters. The minimum height of the building is 0.5 meters, so we passed Insert the ceiling function to lower the height of the ad word "room". Set up a room of 0.5 meters high, and then ceiling 0.3 meters, so the height of the "room" is 0.2 meters.

Step 3: Light the light as required

Brightness: It is the perception of the intensity of light by humans and is a subjective quantity. Read the picture below to get a more intuitive understanding of brightness.

The thickness of the large characters/lightbox, please refer to the actual requirements, the brightness is 500-700cd/m2, that is to say, in the urban night light of the hustle and bustle, you look up to see the advertising characters in the far place, and look down at the brightness of the mobile phone screen, there should be no difference. With this concept in place, we can directly illuminate and calculate in the software.

Select the 0.72W, 75LM module, and try to calculate the target value multiple times.

It is finally determined that the arrangement spacing of the lamps is 0.1m×0.1m. Note: Only the number can be defined here, and the spacing is automatically arranged by the software. Because the direct input pitch value can not be less than 0.25 meters.
