It's awesome! Samsung Monitorless wants to replace the screen with AR glasses from Baidu VR

The video of technology concept is very interesting. It can tell us what the future is. As for the concept products that we can touch and use, it is often not very interesting.

Next week, MWC will open in Barcelona. Samsung is preparing to present an interesting concept product. Initially, this product appears to be a hybrid of Google Glass and Microsoft HoloLens, which is somewhat similar to the prototype glasses that ODG exhibited at the CES show in January.

Samsung developed Monitorless glasses, which is to use AR (Augmented Reality) glasses instead of computer monitors.

Ambition is a bit big!

Tucao! Monitorless is not a revolutionary product because Microsoft HoloLens can replace PCs, and VR helmets (like Rift) can.

So there is nothing new about replacing computer monitors!

Monitorless is very similar to regular glasses, and this is where the real world’s best is. Monitorless can be used both as an AR helmet and as a VR device. Once Monitorless glasses are used, you can use VR or AR viewing angles to enjoy the content on your PC or mobile phone screen.

According to Samsung's video, Monitorless looks a bit like high-end 3D glasses. The glasses's brackets are a bit clunky and contain key components such as CPUs, Wi-Fi chips, visual projectors, batteries, and speakers. Samsung did not disclose the specific specifications of the components.

The brackets seem to block the peripheral vision and make the experience more immersive.

When we pick up the glasses, we see it has two sets of lenses. The front is a standard glass lens, followed by two small optical lenses that look similar to Google Glass and HoloLens.

The optical lens display interface, the front transparent lens can adjust the VR experience or the AR experience, and the AR experience is provided when the external world is completely visible.

The glasses are connected with the smart hand via Wi-Fi Direct, and the mobile phone is connected with the PC through Wi-Fi or LTE, and the PC interface is projected onto the glasses.

When we dock the glasses with the PC, we can control the program and play PC games. The Samsung concept video shows that a smartphone is equivalent to a remote controller and can interact with a PC. According to estimates, users can also use the keyboard and mouse.

Will Monitorless become a real product? Or just a future idea? Not yet known.

I hope to experience Monitorless on the MWC and see how the effects of the glasses are. For example, will there be any delay in playing games? Who does Monitorless compare with Microsoft HoloLens?

Samsung will exhibit four concept products on MWC. Monitorless is just one of them. In addition, there is Relúmĭno, which is a visual aid APP for Gear VR. One is VuildUs, which is a home interior decoration VR program. There is traVRer, which can provide VR travel experience.
