Blend Media from the 360-degree video and virtual reality field has completed £1.5 million in financing, and their funding so far has reached £2.6 million. It is understood that this round of investment from Hambro Perks and I2BF Global Ventures, the original investor Clarity partner Paul Cooper, ITN production director Mark Browning also participated.
Other Blend Media shareholders include Solly Solomou, co-founder and executive director of the LADBible Group, and Ben Donovan, co-founder and former president of Disney’s Maker Studio.
This funding will help Blend Media continue to develop its platform and expand its technology, sales and marketing team.
Co-founder and Executive Director Damian Collier emphasized that they make it easier to create and use 360-degree video or virtual reality.
He continued: “We have created a self-service tool that allows marketers to easily create immersive video ads and publish them anywhere, including any web browser, just like using email marketing packages. We are glad to see that the creators are making a lot of creative works. We are honored to be part of this week’s selection team for the best 360-degree video content at the Raindance Film Festival in London."
The London-based company has worked with Facebook to help increase the number of immersive video content on its platform. Blend Media also announced that Google, Greenpeace, UNILAD, AOL and McCann are all their customers.
Kate Burns, executive director of media technology at Hambro Perks, added: "Blend Media is particularly prominent in the virtual reality world because they are actively creating a true content market and looking forward to the future. They have already conducted with some of the world's leading brands. In cooperation, their creative and distribution tools will truly popularize 360-degree video."
