Hangzhou Canal Tourism Lighting Project won the International Award

On the evening of October 19th, good news came from Gwangju, South Korea. The Hangzhou Canal Tourism Lighting Project won the second place in the 6th International “City, People, and Light” Awards. Yang Haobiao, deputy mayor of Hangzhou Municipal Government, received the award on behalf of the Hangzhou Municipal Government. The international award won by Hangzhou Canal has won an international award for “The City of Quality of Life”.

The international “City, People, and Light” awards are jointly organized by Philips Lighting and the International Urban Lighting Association (LUCI) and are among the most influential international awards. Cities such as Vienna in Austria, Cohen in Germany and Ghent in Belgium have won this award.

The Canal Lighting Project involves three districts, Gongshu, Xiacheng and Jianggan, with 21 kilometers of green belts and railings, bridges of different eras, volumes, materials and colors, many modern buildings, many pavilions and pavilions. There are tributaries, tree quilts, sculptures, etc., which is a huge lighting project.

Mr. Roger Narboni, a famous French lighting designer from Concepto, personally took charge of the project. Mr. Roger Narboni is a world-renowned expert on night vision planning. He has hosted night vision planning and design projects in more than 100 cities including Paris, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Brussels, Belgium and Athens, Greece. He also planned the night illumination of the Seine in Paris. In the end, Roger Narboni did not disappoint us about the design of the Hangzhou Canal lighting.

Now, the canal at night is like a soothing, elegant and wonderful movement, and it looks like a Jiangnan charm of ink and blue. Venetian lampposts placed at the intersection of the tributaries of Shangtang River, Yuhangtang River and Shengli River into the canal, diffuse halo in the water at night, create beautiful reflections on the dark water, and fluctuate with the fluctuation of water To create a sparkling effect. As the seasons alternate, the color of the lights will change to amber or blue, inadvertently matching the mood of the visitors.

On the embankment, blue and green lights, railing lights, odometers, garden lights, underground lights and pavilions and lightings show the beauty of the canal. Especially the odometer. When people come to the canal and see the luminous odometer installed every 1 km, they can know the distance to Beijing. I can imagine how many cities the river has flowed to reach the starting point. People's interest in the history of the canal.

The blue-green illuminated frame on the facade of 69 buildings along the canal, like the symbol of the canal, stands in the skyline of Hangzhou and looks like floating on the river, forming a canal corridor. These boxes also resemble a virtual frame to create a imaginative, poetic geometric landscape.

It is reported that the design concepts of the Venice lamp post, odometer, blue-green fog band are the first in China.
