The field sequential color display of the blue phase liquid crystal is different from the nematic liquid crystal on the existing LCD display. Existing LCD displays use red, green, and blue sub-pixels as color filters to color the LED backlight. The blue-phase liquid crystal field-sequence color display quickly changes the color by the LED itself, so that the human eye only sees the colors of different tones after mixing, which makes the pixels finer and fills more pixels in the unit space. In addition, this technology reduces the total voltage required to create an image for better energy performance. The technology is still in the research and development stage, and it is expected that the prototype will be completed next year and will be applied to different products including VR.
