Looking at the heat and success of Amazon Echo and Google Home, Microsoft seems to be unable to sit still. According to reports, Microsoft has released a promotional video of Harman Kardon's high-end smart speakers, which are provided by Cortana.
This smart speaker will not be officially released until next year, and Cortana should play a similar role to Amazon Echo's Alexa.
The promotional video did not provide much detail, only showing scenes where Cortana was asked to play music and create notes. But it's not hard to imagine that Microsoft's smart assistants can play a similar role to the PC/mobile version, such as quick search, listening to news, querying sports scores, and more.
Although the specific release date of this smart speaker has not been announced, the CES show in a few weeks should look like a good time. And given that Microsoft is about to open Cortana's SDK, there will be more types of smart devices to get its support in the future.
